Arts, Crafts, and the Holy Spirit
Now simply designated by the address, 2401 Bancroft Way, the former First Unitarian Church, designed by the architect Albert Schweinfurth, was attended by some of the leading lights in the Arts and Crafts Movement, including architect Bernard Maybeck and the poet Charles Keeler, who championed its principles in his 1904 book, The Simple Home. The building is now used as a dance studio.
